HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies

What HBO Max does

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies is an entertainment app for watching a large catalog of series, films, documentaries, true crime, family programming, and selected live sports. Its library brings together HBO productions with content associated with Warner Bros., DC, Adult Swim, A24, Discovery brands, and other partners. It suits viewers who want one app covering both current releases and established shows such as Friends, Rick and Morty, and Gossip Girl.

Useful sides

• Browse by brand, genre, movies, series, or HBO content, or search for a specific title.
• Continue episodes and films across supported devices, with profiles for different household members.
• Kid-focused controls include customizable ratings, profile PIN protection, and a kid-proof exit.
• Selected plans support offline downloads, simultaneous viewing, higher-quality video, and surround sound.
• Some live sports events can use Multiview to show up to three games at once.

What to watch for

Availability is not the same everywhere. The catalog, sports coverage, languages, devices, and individual features can vary by country, plan, and subscription provider. Limits also apply to downloads and the number of devices that can stream at the same time. The service is intended for supported TVs, browsers, phones, tablets, and gaming consoles, so compatibility is worth checking before relying on a particular device.

At a glance

With a 4.78 rating from more than 5.1 million reviews and 100,000,000+ installs, HBO Max is a widely used choice for subscription video streaming. It is published by WarnerMedia Global Digital Services, LLC. The main question is less whether it has a broad selection and more whether its available catalog and plan features match what you want to watch in your region.
